This Premium Spark Guard consists of a light weight, self-supporting, rigid metal frame with a fine wire mesh covering. When used properly, the sides and top of the spark guard are placed flat against the outside of the fireplace and should overlap the opening by at least one inch on both sides and along the top. The woven mesh guard will prevent sparks from damaging your rugs, carpet or wood floor. The handles are securely fastened to the metal frame instead of to the mesh, which could cause warping or damage to the screen.
